Our team gets off to a good start in the Champions League with an important win in Istanbul against Galatasaray (0-2). Griezmann played a central role in the match after scoring a double in the first half.

Our debut in the Champions League could not have started better. First win in the group stage against Galatasaray with two goals from Griezmann in the first half.
Good start for Atletico Madrid in the first half, leaving the match on track thanks to a 'double' from Griezmann. The French striker put our team ahead with a great goal from the edge of the box after a pass from Juanfran. But Griezmann’s second goal would do more harm to the Turkish team. Koke crossed from the right, Godín heads the ball to Frenchman, and from the 6-yardbox, he sends the ball to the net. In the last beats, Galatasaray had several dangerous approaches but the scoreboard would not change.
After the half-time, the local squad sought to shorten differences and get into the match, but the defensive solidity of our team avoided it. After the initial shove of Galatasaray, Atlético began to take control of the game and Saúl almost scored a goal. At the end, Griezmann almost had the third but Muslera beat him in a one on one.
