Correa: “Atlético is a unique family”
The young midfielder looks back at his first months in our Club before playing the U20 World Cup with Argentina. Thankful for how he has been treated this season, he is already thinking about his return to work hard on the pre-season.
Ángel Correa (Rosario, Argentina, 1995) will join on Monday the training of his country's U20 national team, which is preparing the World Cup of the category that will be played in New Zealand.
Correa takes stock of his first months in our Club. “The coaching staff, the teammates and all the people from the Club have treated me very well since my arrival, they've made me feel as another member of the team”.
I'm always going to be very thankful to Atlético
A heart condition detected in a medical exam prior to his signing forced the young Argentinian to undergo surgery. “I'm always going to be very thankful to Atlético. I know that any other club would have sent me home to Argentina as soon as they'd found out about the condition. Here, they received me from the first minute with hospitality, they took care of the surgery and that is something I will never forget”, he says.
“Atlético is a unique family. What you live here is not lived in any other Club. I see that my teammates play every match as if it were a final. It's an honour to feel how they defend this shirt. I feel proud of belonging to this team”, Ángel Correa confirms.
Ángel Correa will return in July. “I have been talking with 'Profe' Ortega and when the World Cup is over, I'll be back for the start of the pre-season with the team. I'll try to make a good job and be at the disposal of the coach so they can decide if I'm ready to play”.
