Copa del Rey clash against Lleida to kick off 2018

Atlético de Madrid say hello to 2018 with a Copa del Rey Round of 16 match against Segunda División B side Lleida Esportiu. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. CET.

The Catalan side eliminated Real Sociedad in the Round of 32 of the cup. Lleida scored in the final minute of the match in Anoeta to knock out Real Sociedad. Meanwhile, we eliminated Elche F.C. with an aggregate score of 4-1.

Fernando Torres, with two goals, is our top goalscorer in the Copa and he'll be looking to score more in our match in the Camp d'Esports, which holds 13,500 fans.

Diego Pablo Simeone knows Lleida can be a complicated side, which is why he's urging his players to be 100 percent motivated and ready for the match.

"Lleida are a strong team," Simeone said. "They bring many players into the rival’s box and do the same in theirs."
