MATCH PREVIEW | VALENCIA – ATLÉTICO DE MADRID

Champions League football at stake

Our team travels to Valencia for a demanding LaLiga clash. The game is to be played on Friday at 9 pm CET.

Friday sees Atleti face a demanding challenge at Valencia. Simeone’s men will play at Mestalla with the Champions League at stake at 9 pm CET. Our team is fourth in the LaLiga standings with 39 points, just two more than seventh-placed Valencia, making the clash a must win for both sets of players.

We earned three very important points in our last game, when we beat Granada 1-0 at home thanks to a Correa strike. Celades’ side, on the other hand, lost against third-placed Getafe away. Nonetheless, they’re very strong at Mestalla, where they’re yet to lose this season in LaLiga and have the third best home record in the competition after Barcelona and Real Madrid. Moreover, they have won their last three league games at home, keeping clean sheets in the last two.

The last time both sides met, the match ended 1-1 after Parejo cancelled out Diego Costa’s opener at the Wanda Metropolitano. As for our last game at Mestalla, we also earned a hard-fought draw. Our streak against Valencia is a positive one, having won four times and drawn six out of the last 10.

Everything indicates it will be a fantastic match… Here’s to it! The Champions League is at stake.
