Caminero: "It's been seven incredible years"
José Luis Pérez Caminero highly appreciates the seven seasons he has lived in the club and he is proud of the work and successes achieved in this historic stage.
José Luis Pérez Caminero faces a new stage in his career. After seven seasons full of success at Atlético de Madrid, he says goodbye with a "see you soon" and "very grateful to the club and, in particular, to Enrique Cerezo and Miguel Ángel Gil for their confidence in all these years, for allowing me to be part of one of the brightest eras in the history of this great club.”
Atlético legend on the pitch, he will remember with special affection this stage in the offices: "It has been seven incredible years. As a player, I experienced an impressive time, with the Doblete as an unforgettable moment, but I have enjoyed these seasons in a different way. We have managed to form a very competitive working group, with people who have left their souls in the project. I have to thank that effort to all those people who have gone out of their way on a day-to-day basis and who have made all the successes we have experienced possible."

Caminero believes that "the titles have been very important. I feel very proud to have been able to contribute from my field to the joy that thousands and thousands of atléticos have enjoyed with the conquest of LaLiga, Copa, the European titles... but I would also like to highlight as a key issue the sporting stability that has meant qualifying consecutively for the Champions in the last six seasons. This has been key to the growth experienced by Atlético de Madrid in recent years. Finishing two consecutive years in the second place in the UEFA ranking is impressive, a prize for the work developed by all the areas of the club in these seasons. The current situation of the club is incredible. We have a spectacular stadium, praised by everyone, the entity lives a historic moment, growing globally and competing with the elite of continental football, the fans are always with the team and records of partners have been broken. It is a pride to have been part of this stage."
He has shared the day to day of a dressing room "very united, that has always thought about the group, that has lived as a family and that is the key to success, that the group has always been above the individualities. I only have words of thanks for the staff. His dedication, commitment and effort have made it possible for us to have experienced such brilliant seasons."
Caminero hopes that "this is a see you soon. This is my home and I am sure that in the future our roads will meet again. I am atlético, and I will continue enjoying and suffering in every game. I am convinced that this group will continue to give us many joys."
