Borja rejoins the Atlético training

The ‘rojiblanco’s begin to prepare for their match against Levante

Atlético de Madrid returned to training after the loss to Aris. The players held a closed-door meeting in the in the dressing room before the session for an hour-and-a-half. Afterwards, the squad and was divided into two groups. In one area were those who started the encounter against the Greek side doing regenerative work in the gym. The rest of the team practiced on the pitch.

The positive note was the return of Borja González to the group work. After more than six months away from the daily training sessions with his teammates, and after overcoming a serious injury, the striker finally rejoined the group and trained without problems under the orders of Quique Sánchez Flores. Now he has to finish getting his fitness back so he can be available to his manager as soon as possible.

After a first strictly physical part in which the team’s goalkeepers did not take part, as they were doing work on the side with goalkeeping coach Emilio Álvarez, all of the team members got together and completed various ball possession drills, quick attacks and finished with a scrimmage on a small-sided pitch. Amongst the players in the session were reserve squad footballers Gallegos and Joseph.
