WE HAD SEVERAL CHANCES BUT LACKED AIM

Atlético’s insistence had no reward

Our team tied against Celta (2-2) in an exciting duel. We deserved a bigger reward but we didn’t convert the great chances we had.

Intense match at the Vicente Calderón. Celta had a very good beginning trying to control the match and managed to score the opener with a great heeled goal by Pablo Hernández. The goal was not heavy on our guys, who reacted perfectly turning the game thanks to strategic plays. Miranda tied the match sliding to the net a foul thrown by Koke, and Godín ended the comeback with a superb header from a corner.

The second half started as the first, very hard fought and with both teams fighting for possession. Vigo team equalled the duel in an isolated play. Planas was brought to the ground by Miranda and Nolito was responsible of converting the penalty. From then onwards, our team tried to score repeatedly throughout the second half but the siege on Celta’s goal had no reward.
