Atletico with the youngsters
The expedition continued with planned events as the players shared their time with the kids.
On their second day in Singapore and after training first thing in the morning, the Atletico Madrid squad continued acts in looking to expand the brand of the football club to the entire globe. With this in mind, Atletico players spent some time with some youths to the delight of 118 children.
The players divided into two groups. The first, consisting of Manquillo, Adrian, Godin, Cristian Rodriguez, Arda, Pulido, Insua, Raul Garcia, Koke and Óliver, gave a clinic and were also photographed with the youngsters. The rest Courtois, Asenjo, Juanfran, Miranda, Cata, Schism, Gabi, Mario, Tiago, Falcao, Diego Costa and Saul, participated in a "mass match" against 118 children.
Later, the players mixed with young Asians to play a tournament with teams made up of three players and eight kids in a fun atmosphere. The team containing Gabi, Tiago and Miranda was the winner after beating Falcao, Asenjo and Courtois in the final. Goalkeepers Courtois and Asenjo showed their shot stopping qualities in a penalty shoot out.
The event ended with the pictures in which the squad posed with Miguel Angel Gil, Enrique Cerezo, Peter Lim, Zanidin Nordin (Chairman of the Football Association of Singapore), Heng Swee Keat (Minister of Education) and Federico Palomera (Ambassador of Spain in Singapore).
