CHARITY MATCH

Atletico Madrid to visit Singapore

Diego Pablo Simeone’s men will travel to Singapore to contest a charity match against a team of local stars in the Jalan Besar Stadium on Wednesday May 22.

After the trip to Azerbaijan, Atletico Madrid have another international event before the end of the season. Atletico will play a charity match on May 22 in Singapore organized by the 'Singapore Olympic Foundation' against a set of local stars in the Jalan Besar Stadium.

Atlético will travel to Singapore on May 19, two days after contesting the Cup final of His Majesty the King against Real Madrid in what will be the only stop in Asia in the season.

In its brand expansion plan, the Club has identified opportunities for friendly matches both in the American market and in Asia, two main priorities at international level. So after the tour last season in Colombia and Costa Rica, the team will return to Asia, where in recent years they have visited China and Thailand.

The buzz created by the team going to Singapore is huge. Fans of this popular city-state in Southeast Asia, where there are many Atletico supporters, some of them of Spanish origin, have been receiving with enthusiasm the news of the visit of the Atletico players.

The team will also take advantage of their stay in the city for a series of institutional engagements, commercial and sporting in support of the 'Singapore Olympic Foundation’, who performed extraordinary work to promote sport between Singaporeans and encourage more young people to grow and achieve excellence in each of their disciplines.
