Atlético forward Kun Agüero returns to training

Forlán and Godín, absent from the session

Sergio Agüero was the novelty at Wednesday’s practice. The player rejoined the first squad training after several days away from the team. The Argentine completed the entire session without any problems and showed that he’s fully fit, although he won’t be able to play this Sunday against Osasunsa due to a one-game sanction. Also returning to the group was Luis Amaranto Perea, after the defender wrapped up his participation with the Colombian National Team, although he didn’t train with the squad. The footballer instead worked out in the gym. Godín and Forlán were the only absences, as they still haven’t returned to Madrid after playing against Ireland with the Uruguayan National Team.

The rest of the ‘rojiblanco’ players completed an intense, two-hour session which included the presence of reserve team players Míchel and Atienza. After beginning with a physical warm-up, they moved into some 4v2s. Subsequently, the footballers played possession games and a practice match across the width of the pitch. To wrap up the practice, Quique Sánchez Flores divided the squad into five-member teams with a goalkeeper and they played several small-sided games.
