Atlético de Madrid start pre-season on the 4th of July in Majadahonda
The players will come in for medical tests and training
Club Atlético de Madrid’s first team will begin pre-season training on Monday the 4th of July with medical tests and training that will take place at the Ciudad Deportiva in Majadahonda until Wednesday 6th. Players will be expected to perform double sessions on the first day, while groups will perform strength test before leaving for more training in Los Angeles de San Rafael. The first session will be at 9:30 in Majadahonda and they will leave for the retreat to Segovia after the session on Wednesday afternoon.
The team will be based in Los Angeles de San Rafael from the night of the 6th until Sunday the 17th, when they will come down to Madrid to play a friendly against Alcala in the Estadio Virgen del Val at 21:00. It has also been confirmed that the team will participate in the Trofeo Colombino in Huelva on Friday 12th of August at 22:00 pm against Recreativo. Players called up to start the season are: Asenjo, Joel, Iago, Valera, Silvio, Javi Manquillo, Pulido, Regalón, Cesar Ortiz, Antonio Lopez, Luis Filipe, Mario Suarez, Raul Garcia, Assuncao, Koke, Gabi, Juanfran , Salvio, Fran Mérida, Reyes, Noguera, Saul, Diego Costa, Pedro and Collado. International players competing in the Copa America are not on this list such as Godin, Forlan, Elias, Luis Perea and Agüero. Borja Gonzalez is not back with the rest of the squad as he’s involved in the under 19 European Championship on Saturday 2nd of July. Pulido and Koke are with the first team until Saturday the 16th, when they will join the Under 20s to compete in the world Cup in Colombia. Dominguez is initially not in this list because he has 13 holidays until Wednesday after winning the European Champion with the Under-21s. Finally, Miranda will arrive in Madrid on Sunday July 10.
