Atlético de Kolkata prepares to defend the Indian Super League in San Rafael
The reigning champion of the Indian Super League (ISL) prepares the new season in Los Ángeles de San Rafael, where it will play several friendly matches.
Atlético de Kolkata is in full preparation for the new season in Los Ángeles de San Rafael, where it is getting ready to defend the Indian Super League (ISL) title won last season.
The team of Antonio López Habas concentrated on the 24th of August and will remain in Segovia until the 23rd of September, when they will return to India. The training calendar includes double sessions interspersed with four friendly games. The first one will be played this Wednesday at 17:30 against the U19 team of Gimnástica, from Segovia, while the next rival will be Alcobendas-Levitt. The last friendly is scheduled for the 27th of August in India, a week before the start of the Championship (3rd of October).
Atlético de Kolkata has in its ranks several Spanish players, like Borja Fernández, Javi Lara, Calatayud, Tiri, Valdo and Gavilán, as well as the South African Doutie or the Scotsman, with Canadian passport, Iain Hume, who comes from Kerala Blasters, runner-up in the ISL. The latest addition to the team has been the Portuguese striker Helder Postiga, who has experience inthe Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, English and Greek leagues. The coaching staff is also very satisfied with the work of the Indian players of the team.
