MATCH PREVIEW | REAL VALLADOLID - ATLÉTICO DE MADRID

Atleti look to keep positive LaLiga streak going in Valladolid

Our team, who hasn't lost any of the last 12 LaLiga games, face a team which we have beaten in our last six meetings.

After our final Champions League Group Stage match, LaLiga is back with Saturday's game against Valladolid. The league's matchday 16 clash is to be played at the José Zorrilla stadium at 4.15 p.m. CET.

Simeone's men, who haven't lost any of the last 12 LaLiga games, will look to extend the positive streak against Valladolid away from home. Our last matches against the purple and white side have been favourable, having won the last six clashes and keeping four clean sheets in the process. However, the last meeting between both clubs was on Feb. 15, 2014, before Valladolid's four seasons in the Segunda División. In that game, we earned a 3-0 win thanks to goals by Raúl García, Diego Costa and Diego Godín.

Nonetheless, with their return to the top flight, Sergio González's side are having a good season. They currently sit 12th in the standings, six points above relegation zone and just two points off the Europa League. They are the third team who has scored the less goals (13), but also the fourth side who has conceded the least amount of goals (15).

Therefore, it will be an interesting challenge for Atleti to try to break the home team's defense. Especially for Griezmann, who has scored six goals in four LaLiga games against Valladolid (1.5 goals per match). This ratio is the Frenchman's best tied with Córdoba, against whom our number 7 has scored three goals in two clashes.
