Atleti earn 1-0 win in derby against Leganés thanks to Saúl goal

Our team beat Leganés 1-0 on Saturday thanks to a second half goal from Saúl.

Atleti continued its winning streak on Saturday thanks to a 1-0 win in the derby against Leganés. Saúl was the goalscorer.

The first chance of the game came after seven minutes, as Griezmann hit it just over the crossbar. Our team continued attacking and soon had another good chance. A nice team play ended up with a Kalinic header that was saved by the keeper.

More chances followed as our team dominated possession in the first half. Leganés first shot on goal came just after the first half hour, but Oblak blocked the ball comfortably. At around that time, Solano, who was making his first team debut at left-back, exchanged flanks with Arias.

There were no more big chances in the final minutes of the first half. Simeone made a double substituted at half-time, as Solano and Griezmann made way for Saúl and Lemar. The Spaniard was placed at left-back and Arias returned to the right flank. Correa made his way up the pitch to partner up with Kalinic.

Our team was awarded a penalty inside the first five minutes of the second half after the Argentine was brought down inside the box. Saúl took it, the keeper saved it, but the Spaniard got the rebound and scored. We were in the lead and we kept pushing, as Thomas Partey hit the crossbar shortly thereafter and Lemar's fantastic free-kick effort ended up on the post a few minutes later.

Simeone made the final substitution just after the 70th minute. Juanfran came on for Kalinic, which meant that Saúl was moved up to the centre of the pitch and Vitolo was placed up front. 20 minutes later the match was over and our team had continued its winning streak by earning three more points in the Madrid derby.
