Aranzubia : "The lads are very committed"

Daniel Aranzubía spoke in the mixed zone after an excellent game in his official debut for Atletico. Happy with the result, the goalkeeper spoke of the "desire, strength and intensity" of a group facing each game “like a final."

Daniel Aranzubía was very pleased with the victory in his debut in a competitive match with the red and white’s. "I had played a couple of friendlies but this is my official debut and of course I'm happy for having officially played. Fields like this are complicated and we are very pleased with the result." The Atletico goalkeeper saved the match in his memory. "Sant Andreu didn’t have many chances but with it being my first official game with the team and when you have not played for some time, the feelings are different. I am very happy with the game and especially since the team has got a good result."

The goalie will continue "working flat out" to help the team when Simeone see’s fit. "I did not ask whether I will or not play the whole Cup. In the end we have to train hard and be ready for when the coach calls us up. I have been playing soccer for many years and when I play I will play the best I can. I was prepared to play today and I will be when the coach sees fit."

Finally, the keeper from Logroño confessed that when the squad is as committed as this and has so much quality, it is a very important mix. "Here we have a combination of people that are very committed and people who have a lot of quality. That mix is what all teams wish for. This team has amazing players who could play in any team," he concluded.
