A duel with the Champions at stake at El Madrigal
Villarreal and Atlético de Madrid close the week with a big game in Castellón (20:45).
Atlético de Madrid visits El Madrigal to play against Villarreal in a complicated match in which a spot in the Champions League is at stake in this 15th week of LaLiga. And it will be difficult because the team from Castellón has proved to be firm at their stadium up to the visit of Alavés in the last home match of Fran Escribá’s players, that ended in 0-2, the first defeat of the yellow team in their home ground. The other matches ended with a tie against Sevilla (0-0) and wins against Real Sociedad, Osasuna, Celta, Las Palmas and Betis.
On the contrary, our team has won three away games, the last one, in Pamplona against Osasuna (0-3), in addition to the one in Vigo against Celta (0-4) and Valencia (0-2), tying two, against Leganés and Barcelona, and losing against Sevilla and Real Sociedad.
Diego Pablo Simeone noted in press conference, before travelling to Villarreal, that, "we will find a rival used to competing very well". The manager has called 19 players and August, Cerci, Moreira and Filipe Luis are not on it.
