Thirteen Atléticos called by their national teams

With the squad-lists of the Spanish national team and the U-21, there are13 players from the first team with whom Simeone won’t be able to count on for the next few days.

Thirteen Atlético players have been called to defend the colours of their selections’ commitments. Juanfran, Koke, Raúl García, Saúl, Mandžukic, Arda, Griezmann, Godín, Cristian Rodríguez, Giménez, Miranda, Oblak and Alderweireld are the chosen ones.

The national coach Vicente del Bosque included Atléticos Juanfran Torres, Koke Resurreción and Raúl García in Spain’s squad-list for matches played on the 4th in Paris against France and on Monday 8th, in Valencia, against Macedonia, the latter is part of the preliminary qualifying round for France’s Euro 2016. In addition, Saúl Ñíguez was called by Albert Celades for the U-21 national team.

The Croatian coach Niko Kovac has decided to call our striker Mario Mandžukić for his selection’s commitments. The Croatian squad will play against Cyprus on September 4th and Malta on September 8.

The Turkish midfielder Arda Turan has been called by Turkey’s national coach, Fatih Terim, for the two games of the Turks. In the first match they face Denmark on September 3rd and in the second one they’ll play against Iceland’s national team on September 9th.

Antoine Griezmann has been called by France for the first matches of the season with the French national team. Didier Deschamps has chosen the skilled forward of Atlético de Madrid for the games the bleu team will play against Spain on September 4th in Paris and then against Serbia on September 7th.

Diego Godín, Cristian Rodríguez and José María Gímenez have been called by Óscar Tabárez to be a part of the list of 29 players who will play against Japan and South Korea next September. Both games, friendly in character, will serve the South American team to continue their preparation for the next 2015 American Cup, which will be held in Chile.

For his part, Joao Miranda reappears in the roster of the Brazilian national team. On Dunga’s return to the Brazilian bench coach, he’s decided to reward the good times our football player is living with his Club, so Atlético’s player can defend the canarinha colours in two games of the five-time World Cup champions. First against Colombia on September 5th in Miami, and then against Ecuador, four days later in New Jersey.

Jan Oblak will defend the Slovenian colours, if Srecko Katanec deems it, in the game his national team will play against Estonia on September 8th.

In addition, Toby Alderweireld has been called by Marc Wilmots for the games the Belgian national team will play against Australia on September 4th and against Israel on September 9th.
